Hello, everyone. I'm Misako Ito, a dental hygienist at Halulu Shibuya Dental Clinic.

Today I'd like to use the blog to tell you why I decided to become a dental hygienist and what matters most to me in my everyday work with patients.

Why I became a dental hygienist

What first drew me to this work was a wish to "learn a professional skill and do work that helps people for many years."

While I was working toward a national medical qualification, I considered becoming a nurse. In the end, though, I felt strongly drawn to caring for the mouth, which supports eating, the foundation of good health, so I chose to become a dental hygienist.

At first it was a practical choice made with my future in mind. But as I saw patients' smiles in the clinic, I came to love this work, and today I do it with real pride.

My approach to care

What matters most to me in my work is "protecting each patient's precious teeth."

Rather than repeating treatment again and again, I focus on preventive care that stops problems before they start. I want to be the person who understands you best and is always on your side, so that you can keep enjoying delicious meals with your own teeth and stay healthy for life.

How I care for patients

Many people may feel that a dental clinic is "a little scary" or "a place that makes them nervous."

That's exactly why I try to treat every patient warmly, so that you leave feeling "coming here lifts my spirits" and "I'm glad I asked."

Through the simple joy of "a clean, fresh-feeling mouth," I hope to add to your quality of life and happiness, and I will care for each patient with a cheerful and sincere heart.

My goals at Halulu Shibuya Dental Clinic

I want to work at the forefront of preventive dentistry and provide high-quality care that could become the standard of the future.

My aim is to become a dental hygienist who can lead the team and help build a clinic where everyone who comes to Halulu Shibuya Dental Clinic feels safe and positive about coming in for preventive care.

If you have any questions or concerns about your oral health, please feel free to ask me.

We look forward to seeing you at the clinic.
