Traditional wire braces (front-side) are the most standard and well-established orthodontic method. Small devices called "brackets" are attached to the front surfaces of the teeth, and a wire is threaded through them to move the teeth. This method is highly adaptable and can be used for almost all cases. These days, besides the conventional metal type, less noticeable white or clear brackets made of ceramic or plastic are also widely used.
Recommended for people who:
- Want to be sure of getting beautifully aligned teeth, whatever their starting point, including complex alignment problems
- Want full orthodontic treatment while keeping costs down
- Find it a hassle to manage removable appliances and prefer a treatment that stays in place the whole time
